Areas of Business Administration
CONCENTRATION
Our undergraduate Business Administration program offers two optional specialized areas of concentration, so you can chart the academic path that best suits your career interests.
Students who perform well in the required accounting courses have the opportunity to pursue a specialized course of study in Accounting, the “grammar” of business. This specialization can provide a depth of knowledge in the discipline that will serve students well as they progress in their accounting/financial careers. Classes include Intermediate Accounting I, Intermediate Accounting II, Cost Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, plus Financial Analysis and Planning.
In addition, Concordia College has an articulation agreement with Pace University that offers Accounting graduates favored admission status to Pace's top-rated graduate program, a leader in CPA pass rates. Students can use up to 19 of the credits they earn at Concordia toward Pace's M.S. in Accounting, resulting in quicker completion of their master's degree. Concordia's CPA Pathway Accounting program requires 150 credits.
Developed in consultation with business leaders possessing a global perspective, this area of concentration emphasizes the critical thinking and communications skills necessary to succeed in the global environment. The four-year program is structured around three disciplines: business, modern languages, and international studies. English as a Second Language is also offered, and internships in nearby Manhattan are part of the degree. Concordia’s proximity to hundreds of international corporate headquarters, our strong academic tradition, and respected business and language programs all combine to prepare students to meet the future management needs of global employers.
