Fellows Program
Each year, Concordia College admits a few outstanding students to the Fellows (Honors) Program. These students achieve high standards while maintaining a heavy course load and delving deeply into subject matter.
Perks of Fellowship
Concordia Fellows:
- Receive the College's highest academic scholarships.
- Channel into a special group and individualized program upon entry.
- May take up to 21 credits per semester without an overload fee.
- Participate in at least four 1-credit Honors Seminars, as well as a 3-credit service-learning project.
- Attend various colloquia by distinguished guest speakers, plus lectures and events in New York City.
What Concordia Fellows Do
- Make Dean’s List every semester.
- Display their talents on independent projects and articles in Prelude, the annual Fellows journal.
- Learn in seminar-style classes where what they say matters.
- Study with mentors who guide, challenge and inspire.
- Give back through service projects.
- Use Manhattan as a classroom: sampling ethnic foods, viewing exhibits along Museum Mile, or attending performances.
- Make a difference in college - and beyond.
Application Requirements
In order to apply for the Fellows Program, a student must be an admitted Concordia student and should meet the minimum qualifications below:
High School Seniors
- Combined SAT scores of 1270 (Critical Reading and Math; from 2016 onward)/ACT composite score of 26.
- Rank in the top 10% of the graduating class (if high school does not rank the class, please indicate).
- Have a proven dedication to service in school, community or church.
Transfer Students
- Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Have a proven dedication to service in school, community or church.
Both High School Seniors and Transfer Students should submit the following materials in their application to the Fellows Program:
- an application letter indicating what attracts you to the program and what you will bring to it;
- two letters of recommendation;
- copies of official transcripts and standardized test scores;
- a sample of work (academic, creative or service) that shows you at your best; pick something you are proud of!
