Hand Drumming
(Register)
Hand drumming will explore the relationship between voice, movement, and drumming. Using our voices, we will learn and recite rhythms which can then be applied to drumming. As a group, we will incorporate stepping in place to unite us around a common pulse or beat. This group class will play and use call and response to learn new rhythms. We will build a repertory of rhythms to both vocalize and play Middle Eastern frame drums. Basic playing techniques will also be covered each week. No prior musical experience is required.
