Conservatory Summer Muisc Festival Was A JOY! (revised)

Summer MUSIC Festival 2015 on July 22 and 23

This summer Concordia Conservatory’s Summer Festival took place on July 22 & 23 in the Sommer Center at Concordia College-New York, Bronxville.  The Festival is an annual summer tradition at the Conservatory and performances for the Festival occur over the course of two days. This year Conservatory’s Chamber Music, Songwriting & Composition Concert, Band Bash, Musical Theatre and Vocal Arts campers participated in the Festival.

The Vocal Arts Camp, led by faculty members Sheri Hammerstrom, Sun Young Chang, Jon Klibonoff and counselor Aryas Safaie includes Annael Alvarez, Noelle Butler, Wylie Coleman, Elizabeth Cioffi, Olivia Damasco, Sebastian Dearth, Meredith Greenberg, Kendall Guthrie, Madeline LoBono, Francesca Maroun, Helen Murphy, Jack Murtha, Julia Ognibene, Francesca Seraino, Emily Share, Lilly Slaughter, Katie Suss, Carina Tarazi and Kellie Williams.

The Musical Theatre Camp is headed by Concordia Conservatory faculty members Matt Van Brink and Walker Lewis with counselors include Olivia Damasco, Katie Suss and Kellie Williams. The Musical Theatre Campers include Gemma Diego, Willa Gatzmer, Jason Hourigan, Penny Hourigan, Adia Stokes, Anabelle Thurston and Zarine Yaghoobi.

The Camp Band Bash is led by faculty member Bob Gingery and counselor Luke Gray. Campers included are Coleman Breining, Daniel DeGenaro, Aidan Hartenstein, Justin Laureano, Jack Ognibene, Matthew Pytosh and Eli Stettner.

The Chamber Music Camp faculty members are Keith Kreindler, Jee Sun Lee, Caroline Park, and Evelyn Wadkins and counselors Jillian Quigley and Ross Hoch, and the campers include instrumentalists Alexandra Chitu, William Giegerich, Aidan Hartenstein, Skylar Hinds, Audrey Hom, Emma Keegan, Yair Meron, Yoav Meron, Sri Srinivasan and Eliza Watkins.

The Songwriting & Composition camp was led by faculty Dr. Matt Van Brink and counselor Chris Landy, Campers included are Sam Arcano, Sam Dutton, Dylan Giglio, Marion LoBono, Nick Lombardi and Emma Sanchez. The guest musicians were Keith Kreindler, Caroline Park and Emily Kalish.

On July 24, the culminating Conservatory camp events included outreach performances for the camps at The Wartburg Adult Day Care in Mount Vernon.

Admission was free to the Conservatory Summer Festival and open to the public.
