Arts for Healing Comes to the Conservatory

Concordia Conservatory is pleased to announce that as of September 1, 2019, Arts for Healing will come under the umbrella of Concordia College New York as a department of Concordia Conservatory.

Arts for Healing is known as the finest provider of creative arts therapies to people of all ages with special needs in Fairfield County with 15 outreach programs including Norwalk Early Childhood Center, Stamford Public Schools grades K- 12, Silver Hill Hospital and Waveny Senior Care center in New Canaan. With similar missions, organizational goals, and priorities, it is clear the community has much to gain from the pairing of our organizations at Concordia College.

The program will be located with the administrative office at the Stamford campus of Concordia Conservatory at 884 Newfield Avenue, and private music and therapy sessions will be available in Bronxville and Stamford. We will expand the music and art therapy services to the Westchester County community. Karen Nisenson will serve as Clinical Director and Arts for Healing Department Head at the Conservatory and AFH faculty members Jennifer Ellyson, Matt Hennessy, Nancy Scorcia, and Carissa Streuli become Concordia Conservatory faculty for the 2019-20 academic year.
