Dr. Karen Bourgeois

Dean of Health Sciences and Nursing, Associate Professor of Nursing

Karen Bourgeois joined the Concordia faculty in 2011. She has taught various classes and is practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in a private Internal Medicine practice in Yonkers, New York. She currently is the Director of the Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) Program at Concordia. Karen volunteers her time as a member of the Leadership Committee for the Future of Nursing: NYS Action Coalition (NYSAC), an Action Coalition that is part of the national Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action, supported by Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and AARP. She is also a founding member and vice–president of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) Westchester chapter that will focus on addressing health care disparities and the need to increase the numbers of Hispanics in nursing in Westchester, NY. Prior to her time at Concordia, her experience included working as a registered nurse in both the hospital and the community, teaching at a private college, and working as a nurse practitioner. She holds board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
