Kathy Laoutaris

Kathy Laoutaris is an alumna of Concordia College New York. Kathy began working in the athletic department Fall of 1993. Through her tenure at the college she has held almost every position within the department.

A member of Concordia's 1992 New York Collegiate Athletic Conference (NYCAC) Softball Championship team, Laoutaris was a NYCAC First Team All-Conference selection in her senior year in 1993. Upon graduation, Kathy was immediately asked to join the coaching staff, promptly becoming the Head Coach. In her 23-year coaching career, she has been recognized with Coach of the Year honors in 2000 and 2011, while bolstering over a 90% graduation rate for all of her student-athletes. Laoutaris led the Clippers to the CACC Tournament in 2010, 2011, and 2016 and was named to Concordia's Hall of Fame in 2014.

During those same 23 years of coaching, Kathy has been instrumental in the building, operating, and growth of the Concordia Clippers NCAA Intercollegiate Program. She has managed well over 1,000 home events, leading a myriad of field renovations, and fundraising in excess of six-figures. As Associate Director of Athletics, Laoutaris has immersed herself in the world of the CACC and the NCAA. Laoutaris is a member of the National Fast pitch Coaches Association, National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, NCAA Coaches Connection, and a Regional Advisory Committee member.

In February of 2017, Kathy was promoted to Director of Athletics and committed herself to working hard to continue the academic, competitive excellence, and overall experience of the college’s student-athletes. In three years under her leadership, the Clippers have taken strides in their pursuits of passion, purpose and service. Athletically, Concordia recorded its best finish in the Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup, a program that awards athletic departments points based on postseason successes, with a 108th placing amongst all National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II universities during the 2017-18 academic year.

In the classroom, the Clippers had 23 student-athletes earn Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Academic Team honors during the 2018-19 academic year, the second-highest record since Concordia joined the league. Ten programs have had at least one All-Academic recipient since Laoutaris became the Director of Athletics, with 55 individuals overall earning All-Academic Team distinction in that span.

Laoutaris has also worked on expanding Concordia's impact beyond campus, with the Clippers' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee participating in a school-record number of community service events during the spring 2019 semester. In September 2019, as announced by President John Arthur Nunes, Laoutaris was named the Director of Athletics and Campus Life.
